This past October marked a milestone for the newly rebranded NUA Photography Co. 9 years in business, over 13 years of higher education photography experience, and an exciting new chapter as I return

part-time to NYC to continue to grow with these partnerships. What began as a passion and a dream has grown into trusted creative relationships with universities and brands alike, and I couldn’t be more grateful.

FROM S. TERESA PHOTOGRAPHY TO NUA PHOTOGRAPHY CO.

NUA began as S. Teresa Photography, with a simple mission: to capture the unique story of every organization. Starting at St. John’s University in 2013 was the beginning of an incredible journey, and I still feel privileged to capture the campus while discovering fresh stories and perspectives each time I visit. Over time, the work grew to encompass not only universities, but also high schools, elementary schools, and a range of corporate and nonprofit clients. The move to NUA Photography Co. represents more than a new name, it’s the culmination of years of learning and the incredible relationships made along the way.

Along the way, I’ve been grateful for opportunities to see my work published in The New York Times and displayed throughout New York City, including billboards, bus banners, and prominent locations such as Grand Central Station, Moynihan Station, Penn Station, and LaGuardia Airport.

What 13 Years in Higher Education Has Taught Me

Working with universities has been one of the greatest honors of my career. Across campuses like Columbia Business School, St. John’s University, and The New School, I’ve learned lessons that continue to shape how I work.

Story always comes first, every institution has a distinct voice, and my role is to capture it authentically. Preparation matters just as much; understanding goals in advance ensures the imagery truly supports marketing, branding, and recruitment efforts. Strong collaboration leads to the strongest work, and attention to detail, from lighting to final edits is what elevates imagery from good to exceptional.

🌟 Keeping the Future Bright

Looking ahead, I'm excited for what’s next, more dynamic campus stories, deeper collaborations, and continued growth while I split my time between NYC & Upstate.

NUA represents more than a visual refresh; it reflects a refined purpose: to help institutions and organizations tell their stories through beautiful, thoughtful imagery.
